Dr. Paul Connett is a professor of chemistry at St Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where he taught for 15 years. He obtained a degree in natural sciences at Cambridge University and his Ph.D. in chemistry at Dartmouth in the United States. Over the past 14 years has studied the problems of waste management, with particular attention to the dangers of incineration and alternatives to burning is not safer and more sustainable. He has participated in numerous international conferences on dioxin and his colleague Tom Webster has presented six papers at these symposia, which were later published in Chemosphere. He has conducted presentations 1500 public on these issues in 48 U.S. states and 40 other countries. With his wife Ellen publishes the newsletter "Waste Not" (Zero Waste), which is in its twelfth year of publication. By Roger Bailey, a professor of Fine Arts St Lawrence University, has produced over 40 videotapes on waste management, dioxin and other environmental situations.
